Latin for Local and Family Historians

£8.32

Latin for Family Historians - A very useful reference work which I bought because I needed to translate Latin from various sources like wills or birth, death and marriage records, or manorial rolls and court records. As you travel further back in time, Latin was the commonly used language and a lot of English words are descended from the original Latin or are still used eg ipso facto, ibid, NB etc. This book is aimed at the Local or Family Historian whether amateur or professional genealogist. It is proving a very useful resource book and comes highly recommended.

Latin for Local and Family Historians - A good guide for those whose Latin was learnt way back in school. I use for Family History and Genealogy. Very useful.

Informative, easy to read and digestible! - An excellent starting points for budding historians to learn how to read the charters and writs that are so crucial to their work. Easy to read format allows easy digestion of material. A must for all budding historians.
